Rad Beauty: My current top 5 products

Radlist top 5 beauty

I know that trying to keep on top of the latest beauty trends and finding your holy grail products can not only be frustrating, time consuming but also expensive. I am yet to find many holy grail products (perfect red lipstick for starters!) but I would like to share some of the products that I personally have tried and tested over and over again (all 5 feature in my daily routine) and why I think they are worth looking into.

radlist benefit porefessional

1. Benefit – The POREfesional

Benefit’s POREfessional is designed to minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines for smooth skin. The product is housed in a medium sized tube (22.0 mL) which is easy to open and use. The product itself is coloured, a light medium brown though it doesn’t actually leave a colour behind on the skin which is why it’s suitable for all skintones. The texture of the product is creamy, and lightweight though a little matte. When applied to the skin (little goes a long way), it smoothes and melts very quickly and absorbs (like a matte film) to reveal a smooth finish on the skin. Noticeable benefits include smoothe skin and reduced pores/ imperfections though bear in mind that this is designed to disguise imperfections and not fix them. Overall the performance of the product is great – it really does last day and there are no visible signs of it fading when applied. Use under foundation or alone, this delivers the same results eitherway. It’s also the UK’s bestselling primer!

radlist nars concealer

2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

I’ve been lucky to not have to rely on concealer much over the years but then that day came when I realised that I probably need one – cue Nars’ Radiant Creamy Concealer. The packaging is just like the Nars lipglosses and the eye primer – it has a soft matte handle and when pulled out, it reveals an applicator. Personally, I am not too fond of the applicator because it collects so much product that when used, it’s very easy to apply too much product on the skin. Nevertheless the product is a medium weight liquid that is easy to blend and smooth out. I’ve used a brush and fingers to apply the concealer and both work well. The product covers imperfections/ dark circles very well and lasts approx 8 hours on me. I like the flawless finish is leaves which is neither matte nor greasy. A great product to try if you’re looking for a new concealer!

radlist suqqu eyebrow pen

3. Suqqu eyebrow liquid pen

Having bought this eyebrow pen earlier this year, it’s the one product that I just can’t live without. The pen is very light, like a pencil and the packaging is a clean sleek design. The nib is soft and not overloaded with colour. When applied with light brush strokes, it fills the brows effortlessly. I simply use in the morning and it stays all day. It’s less noticeable after 9 hours of wear which to me is pretty incredible. The quality is second to none as are all the other Suqqu products I have!

radlist benefit theyre real mascara

4. Benefit They’re Real Mascara

Simply put this is a great mascara. The tube is medium sized and the mascara applicator is designed to coat each lash to give a false lash effect. I love that the formula is really light weight and coats lashes quickly and effortlessly without having to reapply to get a good build up. It makes lashes look pretty and full. It also stays put all day – no wonder it’s the UK’s best selling mascara!

radlist nars satin lip pencil

5. Nars Satin Lip Pencil (Isola Bella)

I love this fuss free satin lip pencil by Nars. The packaging is a pencil with a lid – I was a little concerned that the pencil packaging would result in wastage of the product but I found that I use this so often and probaby sharpen after every 10-12 uses because the formula delivers a medium weight but opaque coverage. The formula is creamy and soft, leaving a beautiful satin finish. The wear time on me is around 3 hours. The bonus is actually the wearable colour, Isola Bella, which goes with both day and evening makeup.

LOVE the NARS concealer. It’s so thick but doesn’t feel heavy. It’s one of my HG except for the fact tht there is not a perfect color match (NC20 isn) for me esp for spot concealing.

    1. I know what you mean – I tried two shades, one was too light and the other was a little darker. I went for the one that was a little darker as blending it out helped bring a close match. I hope they do more colours! It’s one of the most popular concealer’s out there.

  2. They’re Real would have to be in my top 5 too! I keep reading about the Suqqu brow pens, they look great!

    1. The Suqqu brow pens come in two colours – looks like the light brown would be a good match for you. I wear the forest green (!) one – which works really well. Who’d have thought it!

      1. oh excellent, thank you for the advice!
